The declaration of the standard compulsory was also in recognition that Zambia imports a lot of used motor vehicles.<\/p>\n The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) implements this compulsory standard through a pre-shipment inspection scheme. Pre-shipment inspections for roadworthiness inspection (RWI) of all used motor vehicles destined for use within Zambia are done by ZCSA appointed agents in Japan, South Africa, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States of America and United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n The inspection was initiated to minimize the risk of unsafe and substandard motor vehicles entering the Zambian market, thus ensuring public health and safety and environmental protection.
